Australia's Proudest Dad Phil McEvoy On Melbourne Cup Win!
South Australian jockey Kerrin McEvoy has won his second Melbourne Cup racing Almandin celebrating with his father Phillip McEvoy by his side.
McEvoy, born in Streaky Bay produced the ride of a champion to navigate $11 chance Almandin to a slugging victory for Lloyd Williams, giving the mega-rich owner a record fifth success.
His parents still live in Streaky Bay and father Phil was trackside cheering his son to victory.
"I tell you what we were doing some jumping, I lost my glasses I lost everything!!"
