One of the changes that came with Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) was that Apple revamped its FileVault encryption solution, changing it from encryption that primarily protected your account's home folder to encryption that protects your whole boot volume. This session will briefly cover where we've been with FileVault on 10.3—10.6. We’ll then look at how how Apple took the lessons learned from FileVault and applied them to FileVault 2 in 10.7 and later. We’ll also touch on how to get your own Mac encrypted and decrypted, as well as how to use the Casper Suite to manage a FileVault 2 enterprise deployment.
