Much of what we believe is programmed into us when we’re young – and then it shows up in the things we say to ourselves. Statements like “I’m always late,” or “I just can’t lose weight,” or “It’s my first year in the business; I can’t achieve success,” stem from these beliefs, which aren’t often the truth.

In this episode, Brian Buffini shares one of his favorite interviews from the past – with Shad Helmstetter, Ph.D., author of What to Say When You Talk to Yourself. Dr. Helmstetter reveals his research findings and offers tips to help us turn negative self-talk into positive affirmations.

You’ll learn about the five levels of self-talk, why the small decisions we make each day are determined by our automatic programming, and how not to absorb other people’s negative programming. By the end of this episode, you’ll have the tools you need to reprogram your self-talk.
