The Institute for Supply Management reported last week that manufacturing, which accounts for 11.3% of the economy, contracted for a fourth straight month in February.

(With the Federal Reserve expected to keep hiking interest rates into summer, a swift turnaround in manufacturing is, however, unlikely.)
