Business news has been ablaze with cannabis SPACs. Special purpose acquisition corporations, which many refer to as blank check companies formed to raise capital for the purpose of acquiring a privately held business, need D&O insurance for the period in which they will be searching for acquisition targets. It’s pricey insurance, and covering the risk is complex and even more difficult to get done in the cannabis space.
