Bob The Drag Queen

Actor, producer, podcaster, comedian, and activist Caldwell Tidicue is best known as his drag persona Bob the Drag Queen, winner of reality competition \u201cRuPaul\u2019s Drag Race\u201d Season 8. The heightened gender expression of drag, which encompasses many different skills and performance styles, has proved Bob\u2019s gateway into the entertainment industry. \u201cNo one is going to cheer for you harder than you have to cheer for yourself,\u201d he tells fellow artists.\n\nBorn in Georgia and trained as a theater artist, Bob set off to pursue acting and comedy in New York City and was inspired to join the queer nightlife community after seeing \u201cRuPaul\u2019s Drag Race,\u201d the show that launched him into the mainstreamin 2016. He\u2019s acted on HBO\u2019s \u201cHigh Maintenance\u201d and \u201cA Black Lady Sketch Show,\u201d Netflix\u2019s \u201cThe Tales of the City,\u201d appeared in films \u201cRough Night\u201d and \u201cA Queen for the People,\u201d and in Berkeley Rep\u2019s \u201cAngels in America,\u201d and produces music videos, podcasts, and stand-up specials. In 2020 he was co-host and consulting producer on HBO\u2019s Emmy-nominated reality hit \u201cWe\u2019re Here\u201d and co-created the first annual Black Queer Town Hall.
