Well, well, wellll. Carolina Cast Fam, do we have a lot to get into tonight or what? Last night was the long-awaited NBA Draft and what we did with our picks was... surprising. We used both picks in the first round to acquire new players. I was awaiting the pick, watching my personal first choice Jalen Duren fall. Then, he was in our laps...and we chose him! Just as soon as he was with the Charlotte Hornets, he was gone. Reminiscent of another situation recently; *cough* *cough* Kenny Atkinson. But, in all seriousness, the trade deal still doesn't make sense. Why wouldn't we keep Duren? Or just trade away the pick to begin with? 1 first-rounder and 4 2nd's don't really make sense... but that could just be me. However, per Mitch Kupchak's report, we did get our first center pick at 15 with Mark Williams. He is taller and seems to bring the right attitude to the team. This could be what we need to create a team that wants to stick together--one that can have good performances on the national stage. And just as we closed out last night, thinking we wouldn't have a head coach decision for a while longer, bombshell news is dropped just this afternoon: Steve Clifford is our new head coach. So, let's just get this straight: we fired Clifford to hire Borrego to fire Borrego to hire Clifford. Yeah, makes perfect sense. Not lol. There are so many more details we will be getting into about the 2022 NBA draft, Hornets, and all the BUZZ that's going around.
