PALM SUNDAY: "The day the donkey upstaged the palms" 
Palm Sunday, is about the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, the Sunday before His crucifixion.   Palm Sunday marks the day Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey. Entering the city on a donkey symbolized HIS arrival in peace, rather than as a war-waging king arriving on stallion.  

Jesus riding in on a donkey also fulfilled the prophecy of Zechariah which was proclaimed approximately 500 years earlier as he predicted in Zechariah 9:9 that the king would come seated on a donkey 

But the significance of the donkey  goes even beyond the prophecies.  ‘
