JESUS would have worked Social Media

We like to refer to Jesus as just full of love, grace and mercy, and non-judgmental.  But He is also the same one who had no problem reprimanding even the Pharisees who were confessed men of God.

I don’t know about you but some of the posts I see those who call themselves believers, post, blows my mind… and had at one made me literally have to take a break from social media because of church folk not the unsaved.

Jesus was also one more committed to His Father than to men and He always followed the lead of His Father who in  Revelation 3:19 spoke these words, “those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent”.

The one thing we know about every single social media platform is they need to be reproved, some discipline needs to be exalted and cries of repentance should out number the likes and followers. That is what Jesus would bring to social media reproof, discipline and a cry for repentance.

However,  another thing we know about social media is that truth is not often what prompts followers. Which shouldn’t surprise believers because in 2 Timothy 4:2-5  the bible tell of this time as it reads, “People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power.”

In other words, if Jesus physically dwelled  amongst  us in today’s culture, He would have to contend with the same people we do.  People who turn a death ear to truth.

So knowing that Jesus would post nothing but the truth, all though HE would have likely used social media to reach people, with all His truth spewing, He likely would not have been a social media sensation.

Be mindful,  “truth” is what prompted the people in His day to crucify Him… people aren’t much different today in regards to their lack of respect or desire for truth.

Jesus may not have one social media account today , but he has those who are supposed confessed believers, agents of the Kingdom of heaven, with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.  If you fit this description, I have some questions for you; how much truth do you share, without judgment, just wisdom and love.  What are liking, sharing and reposting. Matthew 5:16 “let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

I have no doubt in my mind that Jesus would have worked social media for the Kingdom of God, we should follow His lead.
