Good morning, thank you for tuning in this morning. As we look around we see the beautiful decorations on television as they  broadcast the over the top breath-taking Christmas decorations from around the globe.  This morning I was to say to you as we hang and exchange decorations, yes I said exchange decorations, see I don’t want to label them as gifts or even presents this morning, but decorations. 

 By definition decorations refer to ornaments and additives used to honor or bring value to a thing or situation. To decorate is the ornamental aspect which solely focuses on external beauty and significance. See we have made a habit during this season of focusing on or exchanging things that have an external significance, through the adding of external and material things to give it value.

We decorate our homes to celebrate the birth of Christ and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, as a matter of fact we should put more effort into the entire celebration of God entering the world wrapped in flesh.  For there is no birth greater than the birth of Jesus, The Christ.
