A Non-Traditional Look At Palm Sunday

Published: April 10, 2022, 5 a.m.

Please know this message ON THIS PALM SUNDAY was not exalted to condemn, judge or violate your right to utilize your free-will only to deliver the Word of God.  My assignment is equivalent to that of the pizza delivery person, all I am required to do to reap my reward is deliver the pizza, not judge, comment or come to any conclusions regarding whether you eat the pizza, or feed it to the dog.

But here’s the breadstick that comes free with that pizza, what you need to know is the righteousness, mandates and commands of God will never be impacted by your choices.

God is never moved by popular opinion, nor our actions or reactions to His Word. With all the divine gifts, His grace and His mercy, the one thing He has never given man is the privilege of defining righteousness.

I want to close with the reading of the Message translation of  Hebrews 6:4-8. “Once people have seen the light, gotten a taste of heaven and been part of the work of the Holy Spirit, once they’ve personally experienced the sheer goodness of God’s Word and the powers breaking in on us—if then they turn their backs on it, washing their hands of the whole thing, well, they can’t start over as if nothing happened. That’s impossible. Why, they’ve re-crucified Jesus! They’ve repudiated him in public!”

When we exalt any celebration to honor the birth , life, death or resurrection of Jesus Christ without repenting for our sins and moving forward with a desire to strengthen our relationship with God then we have mocked God, the birth, life and the sacrifice of His Son.

Palm Sunday should be about remembering what Jesus willing sacrificed for us, about how even knowing his fate on the cross,  he never stopped teaching the Word of God, and never stopped trying to be that light that would guide the people into the embrace of the Kingdom of God.
