Hollywood narratives have been pedaling a common formula of toxic masculinity for decades now. To combat this reductive form of masculinity, a healthier, more sensitive image of manhood sometimes manages to grab the spotlight. This open and compassionate form of masculinity can be found in icons of Hollywood, like Mr. Rogers and Bob Ross. A masculinity that is less rigid and more sensitive pushes against the more-repressive toxic masculinity. Join us as we examine both regressive and progressive forms of masculinity in entertainment.
