You won't need your insurance or Medicare card, just your ears and your imagination as we visit River's End in a story originally broadcast on January 16, 1938, entitled "The Flood Story." Jean Hersholt stars as Dr. Paul Christian... the only doctor in River's End. He makes house calls, knows everyone in town by their first name and is extremely compassionate offering more than just physical care to his patients. He is a beloved character... and audiences thought so too as this show was on the radio for 17 years beginning in 1937.
