23-year-old Maggie Grout was adopted from a poor village in China, and as a teenager began conceiving of ways to help children like her overseas. She is now the CEO of Thinking Huts, which built the world’s second 3D-printed school in Madagascar this April, and is hoping to build a larger campus to house its 3D printer. The World Bank reports that 97% of Malagasy children are unable to read and understand a single sentence, which is something Grout is seeking to address and spark generational change. The Think Gala fundraiser will take place at the Maidstone Club this Saturday 6-10 p.m. For tickets and information, visit thinkinghuts.org.
