Shirley Ruch, Tasty Tuesday Underwritten by Southampton Arts Center Shirley Ruch founded the https://www.southforkbakery.org/ (South Fork Bakery) six years ago as a way to help the region’s adult population with disabilities find meaningful employment. As April is National Autism Month, Ruch talked about the growth of South Fork Bakery into several weekly farmer’s markets throughout the region, as well as autism representation in 40 businesses from Montauk to Westhampton Beach. A new initiative is now being launched, appropriately entitled “Launch,” by South Fork Bakery, to train differently-abled adults, including those with autism, Asperger’s and Down’s Syndrome, to work in other businesses throughout Long Island’s East End.
