June 6, 2022 ~ Reports describe a rare but growing type of heart bypass surgery: robotic bypass which eliminates the need to break the breastbone. No more cutting the chest in half for open heart bypass surgery. The reports feature a pioneer in this surgery: Detroit Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr. Raed M Alnajjar, who is one of the few in the US who performs the procedure, and is working to make it available to all patients who need heart bypass.
