You Shouldn't Need to Qualify for Help: CAPSA Vice President Speaks Up.

Published: Feb. 22, 2022, 11 a.m.

"I never decided to get better, I just gave up on dying."

Gord Garner smoked crack for 30 years.

Today he is the Vice President of the Community Addictions Peer Support Association (CAPSA).

“I don’t have a heroic personal story, I have a story of thousands of people helping me.”

His goal is to improve the lives of Canadians in regards to their relationships with substances.

“you shouldn’t have to get better in order to get help”

We couldn't agree more.

Tune in this week and listen to Gord #takeofftheblinders around the way we talk, and the decisions we make around Substance use in Canada.

We'll talk about his own personal journey, and how he and the organization he serves is fighting for a safer way for people who use drugs to live.

I'll be honest my friends, this guy blew my mind, and he's going to blow yours to this week right here, on Hard Knox Talks.

Don't believe me?

Buckle up.
