Stigma Kills: The Fight For Inclusive Recovery

Published: May 15, 2022, 9 p.m.

“I remember there was where the most rational thought I could produce is that the world would be better off without me.”

Ryan grew up in a home filled with mental health challenges, he believes his substance use has roots in trauma. All the pain, went away the first time he smoked weed.

“It made me full and comfortable in myself”

Today Ryan works in a recovery center and advocates for all-inclusive recovery strategies.

“You know a tree by its fruit, if someone is trying to heal and needs to use something to keep themselves alive, that is exactly where they need to be. The state of hopelessness today with the fentanyl crisis requires a drastic solution. Exclusivity is killing people.”

We can't wait for this freestyle conversation with Ryan Riggs this week right here, on Hard Knox Talks.

Buckle up!
