Standing on a Bridge: The Day I Chose Suboxone Over Suicide. Phoenix Fire Ep. 5

Published: May 11, 2022, 4 p.m.

Born into addiction, and raised by a guardian she called grandma, Tee managed to steer clear of substances until, at the age of 18, she dislocated her knee. The doctor put her on oxys.

At 20, she entered a methadone program but not long after, was suddenly cut off when she was unable to attend due to her grandma’s passing.

Down the rabbit hole, she went. 15 years on the streets and battling a substance use disorder, mental health issues, and nowhere to turn – or at least, that’s what it felt like.

After a fight with her wife, Tee found herself standing on a bridge questioning: do I jump or do I call 911 for help.

Join us to hear Tee’s story of overcoming incredible odds and what ultimately lead her to the beautiful life she has today. This week on Phoenix Fire.
