Mario Ahenakew Talks about gang life and how he turned it all around.

Published: July 21, 2021, 1 p.m.

Mario remembers what it was like seeing gang members living the life as young as 13 years old.

Cars, money, women, he wanted to feel the acceptance from them that he never got from his dad.

Working in a gas station was decent money for a 13-year-old boy but selling weed was better.

It wasn't long before he got kicked out of his family home and moved to Saskatoon with a relative in a family attempt to intervene

Out of the frying pan, into the fire.

Wasn't long before Mario was living the gang life, doing gang shit, living what he thought was the dream.

Self will run riot.

His life spiraled further and further into chaos, rolling up to Holy Cross Highschool in a Jag with a Rolex and chain felt normal to him.

Opiates ruled his life.

Join us this week and listen to Mario #takeofftheblinders around the realities of gang life right here in Saskatoon, and how it took something truly tragic to give him the slap he needed to turn it all around.

You won't want to miss this one, my friends, so strap on your helmets because we're talking about gang shit this week, on Hard Knox Talks. Buckle up!
