Epigenetics, Addiction, Concurrent Disorders: Real Talk With Dr. Kim Hellemans. Phoenix Fire Ep 11

Published: June 10, 2022, 9 p.m.

Dr. Kim Hellemans is a teaching professor and Associate Dean of Science at Carleton University, and the co-host of the popular podcast, Minding the Brain.

While Dr. Hellemans is incredibly accomplished, she is equally personable,

which is why I've asked her to come on the show.

I had questions and I suspect many of you might be wondering the same things:

Is there a genetic disposition to addiction?

Are my kids doomed to follow in my footsteps?

Would treating concurrent disorders be a better approach than treating one then the other?

Join us next week when we'll have the privilege of hearing Dr. Hellemans answer these questions and dive into the science behind addiction.
