The federal government has big plans and cities and municipalities are where the climate action is - you'd think they need to work pretty closely together. But \u201cIt\u2019s fairly limited,\u201d Allison Ashcroft a veteran practitioner says. \u201cProcedurally, there\u2019s little to no direct engagement between ministers and elected officials,\u201d nor between policy staff at key federal governments and practitioners in local government. Allison has worked with cities across Canada. She says closer collaboration could accelerate climate action significantly and dramatically reduce waste and redundancy.
