As humans, one of the hardest things to do often do, is to truly be our authentic selves.

We're often tested by advice from friends, family, social media, our environment, etc to make change the way we're living.

In this vlog, I give 5 pieces of advice on being confident in yourself and your choices despite what others are doing/how they think you should be living your life.

The specific question I answer is as follows:

Hi Arnav, I am a college freshman. I am currently dating my high school sweetheart, but we’re long distance. I am struggling with whether the two of us should continue. I love her and we’re good. Obviously, long distance is tough and has its adversity, but I want to stay with her.

All of friends here at school, want me to be single and experience that. They continue to bring up the idea that I’ll regret not experiencing being single if we ever do breakup and that these years of being in college never come back.

I’m curious if you had any thoughts on approaching this situation and how to best navigate being confident in my decision making to stay with my girlfriend and not feel as self-conscious being in a college environment where most people are single?

If you have any comments or feedback, let me know!
