Do we trust our government officials to make the right decisions? What about our voting neighbors? Or ourselves? There are limits to the good within people. Selfish desires, ambition, fears, and twisted thinking can take things off track quickly. The Lord requires his people to trust him and not their own understanding. Why? He wants us to think and act properly, but without that foundational trust we tend to listen to other voices, the one in our heads, the one telling us to ignore what God says and go the way of the world. We must be careful. On Sunday, we continue the God, Governments, and Grace series with Trust, but Verify.
