Storms of Life

Speaker: Jeff Jarvis Perhaps it's because of all the thunderstorms that we've been having lately, but I've been reflecting on some of the "storms of life" that I've faced personally. The divorce of my parents, a series of investing mistakes I made that cost Cathy and I tens of thousands of dollars, even her parent's recent illnesses and how it's affected our family. Have you ever spent time thinking hard about the storms of life that you've had to face? Those difficult events or seasons that arose perhaps because of a sickness or death, or a relational conflict. It could have been the result of mistake you or someone else made. Maybe the storm came without any apparent cause...just "life". Regardless, after the dust settled, the carnage was undeniable. What storms come to your mind? I've read recently that the storms we've experienced in our past are key to our spiritual growth? That, in fact, bringing them into the light is critical for our spiritual development? Nothing seems more counter-intuitive to me than this. But I'm beginning to believe it and I'm looking forward to discussing this more on Sunday.
