\nAs we have walked through different conceptions we can hold of God over the last few weeks, you start to realize that things can look a little different than in traditional churches.\xa0Some really important questions start to bubble up:
\n
\n* How do we pick our conception(s) of God?
\n* What if we pick the wrong conception?
\n
\n
\nWhen you come from the Meadow (if you are not familiar with this term, listen to last week’s talk) you often hold onto your conception of God because that’s what you grew up with, or what your community all holds.\xa0That conception is thought of a truth, not a conception.But on the Ledge (again, see last week’s message) we hold these conceptions in an open hand, understanding that there is more than one conception of God.\xa0But that means we each have to choose a conception(s) of God.\xa0And so we need a criteria for picking our conception in any given moment, we call it:
\nBounce (yes, like bouncing on a trampoline)
\nIt’s a metaphor from another pastor that talks about the purpose of the spiritual journey on the Ledge and how we choose our conception of God(s). It’s mind-blowing, and beautiful, and challenging all at the same time.
