Ep. 041 - Deputy Sheriff II Ashley Smentek

Published: April 3, 2020, 8:08 a.m.

Ashley Smentek is a retired deputy sheriff and now runs Gold Hill Canine in Northern California. Not only did Ashley work as a patrol officer, he also served as part of a helicopter team and worked for 3 years within the jail system. We talked a lot about recent officer-involved shootings and other incidents that have put the spotlight on the men and women in blue. His perspective on some of those matters and the use of body cams and other recording devices is really interesting and brings context to situations that civilians may not have considered. Another really great episode.
