The story of Marius the Giraffe and the insensitive way in which he was put down has made for some bad press for Copenhagen Zoo in Denmark. After euthanizing the giraffe due to issues surrounding his genes and inter-breeding with other animals, the zoo promptly fed his body to the lions on full view of the public.
