A million years ago, in 2018, one in five federal employees teleworked. That's according to the Office of Personnel Management, out with new data on the state of telework in the federal government. Eligibility was down slightly. Participation was up. Now of course, it's way up. The new data from OPM is over a year old. But it sheds light on just how much work agencies had to do to expand telework during the pandemic.
