New study examines support mechanisms for civilian employees deployed to dangerous areas

People often forget that when troops deploy overseas, a supporting group of civilian federal employees accompany them ... often to dangerous areas. Those civilians go through many of the same stresses as service members. The RAND Corporation has begun studying whether these employees receive enough help when they transition back to life outside of a warzone.
