We\u2019re in a new year, and that means federal employees working across the country are about to get a sizeable raise added to their next paychecks.\nPresident Joe Biden made the average 5.2% raise\xa0official\xa0right before Christmas. But while most career feds on the General Schedule will get a raise\xa0somewhere around\xa0that percentage, thousands of those in the uppermost ranks of the GS pay system will see their paychecks short-changed.\nThat\u2019s because of an arbitrary pay cap that exists for General Schedule pay rates.
