Steve Jobs, arguably one of the greatest innovators of our modern age, was famously quoted as saying,\n\n\t\u201cIf you want to make everyone happy, don\u2019t be a leader. Sell ice cream.\u201d\n\nSo it is with making movies, especially those dealing with abortion. We knew going into the making of \u201cInwood Drive\u201d that it would be a hard film to make. We also knew that it would be a harder film for people to watch and accept. That played itself out in the process of trying to get the film picked up by a distributor. No one would touch it, because they didn\u2019t want to jeopardize the rest of their film catalogue by taking on a film with so much hard truth in it.\n\nIf you want to make movie audiences happy, make a Hallmark film. Don\u2019t talk about the \u201cA\u201d word.\n\nThe sign of a thick-skinned professional is someone who can take a full onslaught of criticism from both barrels of a critic\u2019s gun, then shake it off and keep moving forward. Amber and I both learned a long time ago to keep moving through opposition, no matter how intense it gets. When we started Fearless Features and began tackling subject matter that very few others would touch, we knew that it was not going to make us rich and famous. In fact, quite the opposite.\n\nI don\u2019t mind a critic saying they don\u2019t like the way I shot a film, or the pacing, or the cinematography. Those are subjective things, and you can\u2019t please everyone. What I take as a mark of excellence, even through an onslaught of criticism, is when those criticisms only amount to surface-level fluff, but never argue the facts. We know that the film is full of documented facts, because we didn\u2019t put anything into the film that wasn\u2019t documented fact. No one has yet stepped forward to argue the facts - only their opinions about whether or not they liked the film about the demise of one of the world\u2019s most infamous abortionist.\n\nAs Amber pointed out, the fact that the haters watched the film so they could tear it apart in their reviews only makes us rejoice - because we know that they heard the gospel!\u2028\n\nCheckmate.
