2094 - We have trades!

We could have called this podcast...Tim doesn't like the AL Central. I was amused by his rant!
1.The Angels acquired Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez from the White Sox for Edgar Quero (C) and Ky Bush (LHP). It was steep price for two rentals, but I guess when you’re trying to convince Shohei Ohtani that you are a winner, it’s what you do.
a.Your thoughts on the deal?
b.Any pickups in Chicago based on the deal?

2.The Dodgers have been busy.
a.They acquired Amed Rosario from the Guardians for Noah Syndergaard. While they needed a shortstop, they also need innings. It makes you wonder if they will dip back into the farm system for a River Ryan, a Kyle Hurt, or a Nick Frasso.
i.Did this make sense to you?
ii.Father time and injuries have not been kind to Syndergaard. In 2019, his fastball averaged 98 MPH. Today, it’s averaging 92.6 MPH. However, the Guardians have a history of getting guys to throw harder. Thoughts?
b.They also re-acquired Kike Hernandez. He was pretty good the first time but awful with Boston. Will he get enough at-bats to grab him in a fantasy league? Even if he does, would you pick him up?
i.The Red Sox got two relievers in Nick Robertson and Justin Hagenman.
1.Robertson is a fastball change-up pitcher. Pretty good change-up with nice tumble and fade. FB sits 95 MPH and is pretty straight.
2.Hagenman – Has a three-pitch arsenal (sinker-slider-changeup). The sinker looks average, with a decent slider and change-up. He’s been used as a long reliever/spot starter.

3.David Robertson is traded to the Marlins.

4.Tuesday was a bad day for pitchers looking to get traded. Do either of these guys get moved? Did they hurt their trade value with that one outing?
a.Marcus Stroman – 3 IP, 9 hits, 7 ER
b.Lance Lynn – 4.2 IP, 7 hits, 7 ER

5.We are at the 2/3 mark of the season. Any advice for fantasy managers who are vying for the money.
a.One year leagues?
b.Dynasty Leagues?

6.Marco Luciano was a surprise call-up (at least for me) on Wednesday. He’s been hurt a lot and has only 269 plate appearances above A Ball. He has 40 home run potential long-term, but I don’t like the setup for this season. What say you?

7.Eury Perez started in Double-A, was on a strict pitch limit, and threw 45 pitches in 2.1 innings. Phew!

a.He will be back in Miami on _________________ (looking for a date).

8.Triston Casas is starting to figure this baseball thing out. He’s up to 15 home runs, hitting .253 with a .360 OBP. Hard hit rate is at 80%. Nice leverage at 15.1 degrees. He’s striking out too much at 25%, but that might be the player.
a.I’m considering him a 30/100 guy with a high OBP. Am I overvaluing him for the next year?

9.Your buddy was re-upped for four more years. You can stop the collection for Mr. Manfred…he’s going to be just fine. People are waiting for a reaction. Well…

10.What hitter are you targeting for this weekend’s FAAB?

11.What pitcher are you targeting for this weekend’s FAAB?
