"On August 6, 2011, Cody Patron\u2019s world came crashing down when she received word that after more than a decade in the Marine Corps serving in an EOD unit, her husband, Sergeant Daniel J. Patron, was killed in Sangin Valley, Afghanistan. Daniel dedicated himself to saving as many lives as he possibly could, earning The Purple Heart and The Bronze Star Medal for his heroic service. Daniel\u2019s wife, Cody, was left to pick up the pieces as a widowed mom when tragedy struck again in October, 2018 when the Patron home was devastated by the catastrophic Category 5 Hurricane Michael."
