During these difficult times as we continue to social distance, the summer of 2020 has been cancelled, especially for some of our favorite conventions. Luckily, Creation Entertainment has created the Virtual Fan Experience keeping all fans connected to the Star Trek universe.
\nOn Saturday, May 2, 2020, Garrett Wang (Harry Kim) and Robert Duncan McNeill (Tom Paris) will be apart of a virtual Question and Answer Panel, partly in celebration of Star Trek Voyager's Silver Anniversary at 10 a.m. PT in a "pay what you can" event. The top tipper/supporting receiving 1-0n-1 with Wang and McNeill along with a $100 Swag Bag from Creation Entertainment (details on www.fanboynation.com).
\nYes, it was 25 years ago, that Star Trek Voyager first came to life, giving the Starfleet their first female captain in Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) and a whole host of beloved characters including Kim and Paris.
\nThe series lasted for Seven Seasons and 172 Episodes and deserves far more recognition than it has received or the past two decades.
\nWe spoke with Garrett Wang about his new podcast with NcNeill, entitled The Delta Flyers, cracked several jokes during these trying times, discussed racism against Asian-Americans amid this global pandemic and how Star Trek, dating back to the 1960s, helped us combat racism and what he would like to see if Harry Kim was to make an appearance on Star Trek: Picard.
\nWang will be having neck surgery on Thursday May 7, 2020, following the second in the series of panels that he and NcNeill will be part of, on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at 3 p.m. PT, which will be an exclusive chat for 15 participants and sign ups can be found on the Creation website by clicking here.
\nWe wish our friend a speedy recovery following his neck surgery and if you would like to get ahold of Garrett follow him on Twitter @GarrettRWang and also follow new podcast debuting next week at The Delta Flyers.
