Onalee is a costume designer, seamstress and tour guide at the De Zwaan Windmill in Holland, Michigan. The De Zwaan windmill is the only functioning windmill in the United States to have been built in the Netherlands and shipped to the USA. They still operate daily grinding gran flour. She managed to teach me quite a bit in the few short minutes we talked. For the record…stroopwafels are the best treat in the entire world IMO. I was so grateful that Onalee agreed to talk with me for 10 minutes as she was tight on time heading to a class where she is deepening her knowledge of Dutch grain mills and how best to share that knowledge. Thanks, Onalee. Onalee designs Dutch costumes, Colonial and Civil War Civilian Attire, and Wool Capotes & Blankets.
