Today's skill is definitely a keeper for anyone who wants to be able to listen to audio (and possibly video) files through the A-lady that they aren't able to otherwise access through TuneIn or Audible etc. Here are the steps - don't worry, they aren't as complicated as they look:First enable 'My Pod' through the skills store as usual, then link it to your Amazon account on that same page. Next go to mypodapp.com and sign in - again using your Amazon account details. Now you'll need to add links to all the things you'd like to play. It could be a podcast feed or streaming radio station. Whatever it is you'll need to locate the url to that file or stream and have it ready on the clipboard. Let's use the example of adding audio files from your Google Drive…Go to the files in your Google Drive you want to play on your Echo and copy a share link by right clicking and choosing 'Share public link' from the menu (this works in the Google Drive desktop app or when viewing your files at drive.google.com).Then go to mypodapp.com, make sure you're still signed in and create a new playlist - such as 'Movies'.You will then see a page that asks you to enter a link to an RSS feed (for podcasts), a live stream (for streaming audio like a radio station) or, in this case, a Google Drive file. First give the link a suitable name in the tag/name box (e.g. 'Crocodile Dundee') and in the corresponding box paste the url to that file/stream etc.You can do this several times and, when you're done adding links to that playlist, hit the 'Save' button. Then voila! Ask My Pod to play your playlist or file by that tag/name - e.g. "Alexa, ask My Pod to play the Movies playlist" or "Alexa, ask My Pod to play Crocodile Dundee." Note: When your audio is playing and you want to skip forward or back, make sure you start with 'Ask My Pod…' - e.g. "Alexa, ask My Pod to skip forward 10 minutes" or "Alexa, ask My Pod to go back to the beginning".Similarly, if you're listening to something using My Pod and you want to switch to something else, say "Alexa, ask My Pod to play X" (where 'X' is a playlist or file you've created and named as above). Finally, if you want to listen to the gang and me on the Maccessibility podcast while it's being recorded live tonight (30 Aug at 10pm BST or 5pm Eastern) then just create a suitably-named playlist and then add the following link to the mypodapp.com website: http://darcyandholly.com:8000/mrtp.m3u. Call it 'The live stream', say, and then you can say "Alexa, ask My Pod to play the live stream" and we'll come through your Echo when we hit the air (and it's probably best not to call it 'Maccessibility live stream' as, in my experience, she has difficulty understanding 'Maccessibility'). Alternatively, just click that link and listen to us in your browser but note that neither will work when we're not live so make sure you only tune in just before the hour at 5pm Eastern tonight.
