The Brits went off OK but I got a bit bored halfway through\u2026it\u2019s a sad situation but the music game is slowly going under\u2026.technology is seeing to that. I was listening to Andrew Lloyd Webber being interviewed on Radio 2 and he was saying that he once wrote a song for ELVIS and thought he had reached the summit of his career\u2026however he never made a penny!!...as Elvis puts his name in the writers column and Colonel Parker takes over the publishing\u2026so nothing really changes. I remember Elvis asking Dolly Parton if he could record \u201cI will always love you\u201d (with presumably the same set up as Lloyd Webber) and she chased him\u2026.nice one Dolly.\n \nNow the record companies are blubbering because they are not making money\u2026boo hoo\u2026they have been ripping everyone off for years.\nI have made a lot of money from music \u2026none of which has come from any publishing or record deal (of which I had several)\u2026I did it myself.\n \nGove is at it again going on about how history should be taught (like HE would know)\u2026.saying that pupils should learn dates\u2026..now the reason I didn\u2019t like history in school was DATES\u2026too many of them\u2026.these days I find the subject very interesting because I study the facts and don\u2019t have to remember DATES\u2026wake up Govey\u2026.he has also been going on again about \u201cno winners and no losers\u201d in primary schools\u2026a subject we have covered in the past.\n \nThere was a tragedy locally last week\u2026a poor old lady had put a microwaveable hot water bottle in the microwave to heat up and left it in too long\u2026these thing are filled with grain and heat from the middle\u2026she then put it in her bed\u2026took a sleeping pill\u2026and fell asleep\u2026the hot water bottle went on fire and burnt the house down\u2026the poor old lady lost her life.......this sort of thing should never happen.\n \nWe are doing O.K. in the Winter Olympics\u2026but I wonder what percentage of us care?....the only people who seem to get excited with the curling are the competitors and the commentators\u2026.It has blanket coverage each day on the BBC\u2026.and I wonder how much THAT is costing\u2026.when a half hour highlights programme would do it at night\u2026again nice to know where our licence fee goes. Perhaps they could put some of the money towards the homeless and "hard done by"...\n \n finally\u2026.Joan Collins made a guest appearance in \u201cBenidorm\u201d\u2026WHY?...she must be hard up\u2026\u2026.They had the guy who plays the barman on one morning and he said that \u201cstars\u201d are queuing up to get on the show\u2026..I have come to the conclusion that it\u2019s ME\u2026\u2026I must have lost my sense of humour somewhere along the way\u2026..I watched \u201cBirds of a Feather\u201d\u2026.women yelling at each other\u2026.terrible unfunny tripe\u2026.Mrs Brown\u2019s Boys getting awards?\u2026.I give up\u2026.
