he song I have sent you this week is a tribute to my all time favourite rock and roller\u2026Ricky Nelson\u2026.I have always been a massive fan of him and his songs and his wonderful guitarist James Burton\u2026I have utilised titles from Ricky\u2019s records and set them to the \u201cPoor Little Fool\u201d combination of chords which have been used in many pop songs\u2026it tells the story of how his love songs helped heal our broken hearts when we had just been back heeled by a love of our life in school. \n\n... Speaking of James Burton he is coming over again in July\u2026.along with Glen D. Hardin\u2026.pianist with The Crickets and many others. Again I\u2019m involved which is always nice\u2026Marty Wilde and The Merseybeats are also on the bill along with skiffler Chas McDevitt. I\u2019m doing a spot on the Floral Pavilion with James and Glen backed by a great local band called \u201cThe Shakers\u201d and The Passionettes female backing group who I love\u2026.so it should be fun. I\u2019ve never worked with Glen D. but he has backed Jerry Lee and Roy Orbison with James so I\u2019ll be thinking along those lines for my spot\u2026.rock and roll !!! I\u2019ve worked with James on several occasions\u2026great guitarist\u2026great guy. \n\n..We talked about my pal wrestler Adrian Street last week\u2026there is a nice tale about him\u2026.before I knew him I remember him having a wrestling match with Jimmy Savile\u2026.after we had became friends I asked him about it\u2026he was supposed to wrestle a guy who had been injured so the fight was called off and in his place the promoter decided to replace him with Savile\u2026Adrian was NOT amused..especially as he was told not to take Savile lightly as he was SAS trained\u2026.the fight went on much to the annoyance of Adrian who proceeded to throw Savile around the ring by his hair\u2026and really inflict some serious pain on him\u2026Adrians wife described the bout as an angry wolf chasing a frightened rabbit\u2026Savile ended up in hospital and never wrestled again.\n\nAnother spacecraft is off on it\u2019s way to Mars\u2026.it has been successfully launched \u2026I\u2019m sure much to the delight of the homeless and lower paid....I\u2019ve said it before but I still fail to see the point of all this space business\u2026.and how much is it all costing?...the powers that be just carry on without asking anyone or mentioning the cost\u2026next thing will be more cuts in the NHS and the police etc\u2026.because there is no money\u2026..I doubt if 99.9% of the population care less whether there is life up there..As long as the half dozen boffins who are involved are happy jumping up and down and patting each other on the back\u2026.that\u2019s O.K. then. I would be a bit more supportive if they sent Ant and Dec up there\u2026..one way.\n\n ...on the showbiz front I thought Jo Brand did amazingly well walking 20 miles a day from coast to coast\u2026.in horrendous weather\u2026.raised a lot for charity\u2026great stuff\u2026and Michael Crawford is making a comeback for Sports Relief\u2026he was interviewed on The One Show and looks incredible\u2026he is 74!!....and what a nice bloke\u2026I think he once lived in Hoylake.\n\nAnd I think Saturday night TV has lost the plot\u2026.\u201dThe Voice\u201d is dreadful (the beeb will be well rid of it)\u2026and Ant and Dec\u2019s Takeaway is as bad as it gets..they are never off the screen even when they have guests\u2026.and they copy routines originally done by Morecambe and Wise\u2026who,lets face it,were the REAL deal....\n\u2026and as for Jonathan Ross\u2026oh dear.
