Mark Jenkin is a Cornish director, editor, screenwriter, cinematographer and producer known for writing and directing the film Bait which had been brewing in his mind for the best part of twenty years. Beautifully shot on black and white 16mm film, Bait tackles the struggles of the fishing industry in Cornwall and the knock-on effects of modern tourism for the people who live there. The film earned him a BAFTA Award for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer.
