Dr. Benjamin Mauck was shot to death in front of a nurse, in an exam room.\\xa0Larry Pickens, 29, was later arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

Staff at the Campbell Clinic Orthopedics say they recognized the shooter from previous appointments.\\xa0 Mauk was shot three times in the neck, chest, and upper abdomen.\\xa0\\xa0

A psychological evaluation of the suspect has been ordered. \\xa0\\xa0
