Welcome to Mikerphone Brewing where music and beer come together seamlessly. Located just outside of Chicago in Elk Grove Village, this brewery crafts all genres of beer alongside all genres of music.
Welcome to the second episode in our series of podcasts where we have partnered up with Malteurop Malting Company (MMC) to highlight some phenomenal craft breweries for American Craft Beer Week, May 16-22.
Meet Mike Pallen from Mikerphone BrewingStarting out in the music and marketing world, Mike still always had an inkling towards brewing. His dad worked at Miller when Mike was young, and therefore, told him to not do beer, and to go to college instead.
Mike listened but still got into home brewing in college and then graduated from that into home brewing out of his basement, ultimately making the jump to his own brewery, Mikerphone.
Music and Beer\xa0And if brewing had a hold on him, music did even more. Combining his two passions together, music and beer, Mikerphone Brewing just outside of Chicago became real. But not by any traditional means. Well, sorta. He did start home brewing out of his basement. But on the other hand, he also won highly acclaimed awards for his beer before he even had a location. He did finally have a brewing business, but no home for said brewery.
This is Mike's story of how he and his wife, Lisa, brought two passions together to create one. Join us as we chat music, beer, musical marketing, life and parenting skills, Malteurop malts (they're sexier than you think), and so much more.
The Riney-Hiney Purity Law and Mal\xf6rtPlus, you won't want to miss our announcement at the beginning about\xa0Beer Now,\xa0nor our hilarious (we think so) conversation about the riney-hiney purity law (made up word) but it deserves to be a little goofy, because we got a little goofy trying to pronounce it and decipher it. Come on beer geeks, you know what we're talking about.
But do you know Mal\xf6rt? That's not a made up word, and we've got stories on that, too.

Shout Outs:To Mike for hangin out with us and talking about beer and music. Two things we love, too. Oh, and we love the Mal\xf6rt story. Thanks for humoring us with that, too. When we get together over a beer, we can't wait to talk more travel. Travel and beer go together, just like music and beer. Shoot, anything goes with beer. We know you get that. Yet another reason to give you and Mikerphone Brewing a huge shoutout!
To Nicole Henzel and Gretchen Jones from Malteurop Malting Company for putting this together. It may have been meant to highlight Mikerphone Brewing for American Craft Beer Week, and that it did, but it also shined the spotlight on you two and the community within MMC.
