I had the opportunity to have a conversation with Charlie Daniels from the Charlie Daniels Band. They'll be playing Firekeepers Casino Friday April 8th. He will be 80 years old October 28th and like the cat who has had nine lives he just keeps on keepin on! Charlie is probably best known for his song The Devil Went Down To Georgia but he also wrote the song It Hurts Me, a song that Elvis Presley recorded. Charlie was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry and the Musicians Hall of Fame. He's played with Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Marshall Tucker Band, Hank Williams, Little Richard and Bootsie Collins along with Classic Rock artists of the era. He plays fiddle like NOBODY! And has lots of stories to share about life, learning and the art of playing good music.
