Timothy Amatulli is an award-winning New York-based independent filmmaker. Growing up between the United States and Japan, Tim became fascinated by Asian culture and film and has made them the focus of his studies and budding career. He is a contributing writer at the Asian cinema website Filmed In Ether and co-host of the Akira Kurosawa podcast Sanshiro's Boys. He is a current Film and Media Studies Masters student at Columbia University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Asian Studies from Fairfield University. His undergraduate thesis film, The Quiet Pain, has screened at festivals across the tri-state area, winning Best Student Short at the Chain NYC Film Festival.  Awarded Best Film AND Best Director for his Short \u201cThe Quiet Pain\u201d  @Cinefest
