103. Irish Influence in America

Published: March 17, 2020, 10 p.m.

I’ve recently been reading a book about Irish immigrants in the American West during the westward expansion. This open my eyes to the role Irish immigrants played in the American story outside of the role they played on the East Coast.

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day. I wanted to talk about this role in greater depth..

Before I dive into that, I’d like to talk a bit about the Wuhan Virus or Covid19 as it’s also called. I’d like to talk about some ways to be prepared and navigate the hysteria.

A few things you don’t know the Irish did out west:

 • Leaders in the fur trapping industry
 •

 • The Donner party
 •

 • Canadian Hostilities
 •

 • Rabble-rousing love for freedom
