Dr. Tamar Perlman is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been working with the Jewish community for the past decade. She received her doctorate from Ferkauf’s adult clinical graduate program and has since continued to seek further training in trauma therapy, somatic therapy and emotion regulation treatment.
She practices privately in Queens, where she works primarily with women and couples. In addition, Dr. Perlman has experience working with the teens-at-risk population. She has been the Clinical Director of Ohr Naava’s High School for young women with therapeutic needs. Framed within Torah text and Hashkafa, Dr. Perlman also lectures on various topics including attachment and child raising, marriage and emotion regulation.
She also runs topic focused series in small groups of women such as “The Enhanced Marriage,” “Mindful Dating and “Emotion Regulation.” These groups provide women with guidance, support and perspective on issues related to relationships and dealing with internal and external stresses. In conjunction with a local Kiruv organization, Dr. Perlman also teaches Kallahs as an opportunity to connect to and give over the spiritual and psychological viewpoint on marriage to spiritually and intellectually curious, but not yet observant, women.
