David Kohlbrenner is a PhD student at UC San Diego working with Sysnet\nand CryptoSec advised by Hovav Shacham. His research focuses on how\nhardware design impacts software security. David's work bridges gaps\nin understanding between hardware and software to build systems that\nare deserving of trust. As part of his research efforts, he has worked\nextensively with web browsers to demonstrate new vulnerabilities and\nintegrate new defenses. Previously, David received a B.S. in Computer\nScience from Carnegie Mellon University and co-founded the San\nDiego-based startup Somerset Recon.
