Mana Wahine Series: Anahera Maaka

Published: Jan. 11, 2021, 7 p.m.

Today I was joined by Anahera who lives in Wellington NZ. I came across Anahera on Instagram where she shared a video on her experience with sexual trauma. She spoke with so much clarity, emotion, honesty and love. We covered what it means to feel safe in the body, why we need to get rid of the shame attached with sexual trauma, navigating parenthood, boundaries, creating safe spaces to share and so much more.   I understand these conversation can be triggering however I feel today came from a place of empowerment so that those who listen and walk away will have the courage to keep showing up for themselves and to continue to find safety from within.
