The Brothers Brotastic have been on a bit of a hiatus due to sickness and holidays, but they are back!! Right out the gate they tackle an issue with the British Film Institute saying no to scarred villains. Bad news for James Bond films. Also Daredevil's Cancellation, as well as the bevy of streaming services; are there too many?\n\nPhilip and Andrew welcome each other back from Thanksgiving break and recall the holiday as both pleasant and not so pleasant. Some people got sick.\n\nNext up, some of the movies they have seen since the last show, Halloween, The Meg, and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald. Philip enjoyed Halloween and The Meg. Andrew thought Fantastic Beasts was okay, but did not stand on its own.\n\nThe BFI announced that it will no longer fund movies that depict the villains with scars. They feel that real life scar victims shouldn't live with the stigma of being evil just because they have a scar. Philip and Andrew both understand this issue, but Philip has an issue with BFI making that choice for the filmmaker. Both the brothers however do see that it might be off-putting to be a scar victim and any time you see a person who looks like you in film, its a villain. BFI also announced they are funding a movie starring a real life burn victim in a roll about scars.\n\nNetflix cancelled Daredevil, and both Andrew and Philip feel like that was the final nail in the coffin for Netflix's Marvel shows. Luke Cage and Iron Fist got the boot about a month ago, but they also were not as successful as Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Will they live on with their current actors? Or will they be recast and rebooted later?\n\nFinally, Streaming services!! So many!! Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, CBS All Access, DC Universe. But then, Warner Media is planning a service, Disney is planning a service. More are sure to be on the way. Is it really cutting the cable if you subscribe to 8 or more streaming services? They don't have 2 year contracts like cable and satellite services have, so there is that.\n\nUntil next time, We'll see you at the movies.\nAnd don't forget to check you ticket stubs.
