~Derek~ “Big Island in a Day” tour guide with Wasabi Tours. Raised in South Africa, but has lived in Hawaii for several years and LOVES the history, natural beauty, sacredness of agriculture, pono (which translates to righteousness and respect), and getting to meet cool people via the bus tour! ~Lisa~ from Northern Virginia near DC, her friends she was traveling with went scuba diving that day so she and I hung out together and were each other’s photographer! ~Bob and Marty~ hailing from Tennessee and rode in the back of the bus with me for the all day tour! ~Jim, Beth, and Russ~ I met them on a small cove along Makena Beach in southwestern Maui. Super fun and retired trio going out snorkeling along the cove! ~Deb and Dean~ these are my friends from home that I had only met about 2 months prior to this through Rockingham Chiropractic and we found out we would all be in Hawaii at the same time, so of course I rearranged my itinerary so that I could spend some time with them while there! I didn’t know until I got there that it was her birthday! We’ve already caught up over dinner at Celtic Fringe since we’ve been home and swapped stories and photos from where we had separate adventures! ~Meena~ I was the last on the bus to go up to the Haleakala National park for sunrise over the volcano crater and there was only one seat left in the bus— beside her! We instantly became friends and buddied up for bike ride down the volcano and ended up hanging out at other times during the trip, INCLUDING finding Oprah’s Maui ranch house! She will NOT get me to eat poke though!!! ~Andy and Heather~ this couple was also on the downhill biking tour. They could easily see themselves living there!

---

Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/churchtalks/support
